Hiking is one of America’s favorite pastimes, especially, if like me, you live in the Pacific Northwest. But I have never understood the appeal. Seems to me like way too much work just to see a bunch of rocks and trees. And once you reach the summit, good luck finding a Starbucks, let alone cell phone reception.
